About the Destinations

You will arrive in the capital, San José, and head out the next day for the Caribbean coast to the beaches of Tortuguero National Park where you can witness the spawning grounds of the Green Sea Turtle and much more.

You will then take a flight from San José to the sandy shores of Quepos, where you can luxuriate on its famous beaches and explore the mangroves of Damas Island.

The Itinerary

Days 1-3 | San José & Tortuguero

Day 01: Arrival to Costa Rica. A representative of Costa Rica Travel Pros will be waiting for you outside the terminal to transfer you to your hotel in San Jose.

Day 02: You will be picked up at the hotel your journey to the famous man-made canals in Tortuguero National Park. You will take a boat ride through the canals, where you will have the opportunity to see many animals, including caimans, monkeys and a wide array of birds. Once at the lodge you will have time to freshen up before lunch. There is an afternoon tour that will allow for more sightings of the local inhabitants. All meals are included in the package.

Day 03: There will be an early morning tour of the canals today. You will have the rest of the day to enjoy the pool and nearby attractions. During nesting season (June – September) additional tours are available to go search for turtles.

Days 4 & 5 | Off to Quepos

Day 04: You will depart after breakfast today and will be dropped off at your San Jose hotel in the afternoon.

Day 05: You will be picked up and taken to the airport for your flight to Quepos. You will be met at the terminal by the car rental agency. You will have a 4×4 available during your stay. From the airport, a short drive will take you to your hotel of choice in the area.

Days 6 – 9 | Explore Isla Damas & Back

Day 06: You will tour the Isla Damas Mangrove today. Pickup time depends on the tides that day. This is an excellent opportunity to enjoy the local wildlife. Watch out for the monkeys!

Day 07: Free day to enjoy the sights or book another tour, you can go whale watching (July through October), take a horseback riding tour to a nearby waterfall, or simply lay out by the pool and enjoy the sun!

Day 08: You will drop off your car at the airport and board the plane for your flight back to San Jose. You will be at upon your arrival and taken to your hotel.
